Noble Ruler Report

Well it has been a great semester/year here at Alpha Delta. As my term is coming to an end, I would like to review some of the accomplishments we have seen this year.

First off, it was wonderful to have such a great representation of our chapter at the national convention in St. Louis this August. Six Alpha Delta’s, Neil Mauws, Logan Hodgskiss, Colter Brown, Danny Pratt, Jason Pluhar, and David Ratzburg, attended the convention and took full advantage of all the opportunities that it had to offer. One highlight was when Colter Brown and myself got the chance to sit down with the housing committee and discuss issues about how to go about remodeling in the future and how we can get the money to do so. If you attend the Alumni meeting this Sunday, I will explain this more in depth.

Due to the efforts of Alumnus Bill Perry and active members Steve Moodie and myself, we were able to put into effect GreekBill. This helps us to better manage our finances and if the situation is necessary, we have a company to back us if we ever need to collect outstanding bills on anyone. This will help to recover delinquent payments in the future. So far it has been a great asset to the house.

Risk Management has run very smoothly with very few incidents. Logan Hodgskiss has done a great job, and we can’t thank him enough. Due to his good judgment, he has kept us in check and out of trouble.

Cole Johnson has continued to excel at keeping all members focused on grades. Last semester was very successful with our GPA being above 3.0 once again. We hope to continue this again this semester. A new addition for our members to excel with their academics is that any member who’s GPA is below a 2.0 is required to have there professor for each class sign a sheet of paper that says the individual has been coming and talking to them throughout the semester and is making an attempt to increase their grades.

Philanthropy was very successful this fall. Due to a well budgeted Testicle Festival, we profited a great deal more money than the last few years. We are looking for a new vendor to host this event for next year, so if you know of anywhere around Bozeman, please let us know.

Since it has been since 1998 when our chapter constitution was last looked over and amended, we had a committee look over the whole thing and bring it up to speed with our chapter today. This has been an issue of discussion for about four years now, and it is finally done. Thank you to all the brothers that helped with that.

As of activation this fall, we have 40 active members in Alpha Delta. This is the most that we have had in a long time, and hope to continue the trend.

These are just a few of the accomplishments that we have done this year, but hopefully it gives you a good idea of where are chapter is headed in the future.

This year marks the 85th anniversary of Alpha Gamma Rho at Montana State. This weekend, on November 6th, we are having a reception at the newly completed Animal Bioscience Building. We hope that many of you can attend. On Sunday the 7th, we are having our Alumni Meeting as well. We hope to see you there.

Fraternally,

Neil J. Mauws
