Fall Semester 2012!!

Greetings  from Public Relations,  so far it has been an excellent semester for Alpha Delta. We saw a large turnout for Testy fest, which was highly promoted by local media, and put together by our very own Philanthropy chair Clay Bott of Miles City. This led to record returns to be donated on behalf of our chapter to charities including farm rescue. We have seen promising attendance at the activities put together by our recruitment chair, Adam Heggelund of Deer Lodge. They have included some movie nights with the Sororities, paint balling, and several poker nights. Each of the brothers has been making a point to engage these young recruits. By getting to know them we will better understand what they can bring to the house, as well as how we may help them in their college experience. We are all looking forward to activating a substantial group of outstanding young men.  In other news Montana State University alumnus Bill Jimmerson of Bozeman has been selected as a White House Champion of Change and will be honored during a ceremony at the White House on Oct. 9. he is being recognized for outstanding service to his community, and is one of six FFA and 4-H leaders presented with the honor.Bill graduated from MSU with a degree in Agricultural Education in 1970, and has since maintained a steady committment to promoting Alpha Gamma Rho. To this day, he spreads the good word on Alpha Delta reguarly through involvement in Montana FFA, as well as the college of agriculture. Congratulations Bill on this sterling honor, we are all  proud to call you brother.

Sweetheart Competition

This past week AGR hosted another successful sweetheart competition, with a new AGR sweetheart being selected. The winner Ceily Rae Highberger of Red lodge Montana ran as an independent, and did an excellent job of winning the hearts and minds of our judges. The other contestants including Kate Storms a Pi Beta Phi from Spokane, Cheyenne Stirling an Alpha Gamma Delta from Shelby, Rachel Abeh a Chi Omega from Livingston, Ashlyn Alsberg an Alpha Omicron Pi from Glasgow, and Katie Hillerman an independent from Helmville, all did an excellent job as well. We congratulate Ceily on her success and look forward to having her as our sweetheart for the coming year.
On another note Activation is coming up next week, and this week was live-in week. So far we have had seven guys bunk in with us, to see what its like at the AGR house. We have all had fun getting to know these young men, and hope that they have had a positive experience getting to know all of the brothers.
Pink Rose is coming up on march 24th, we have once again reserved the Stadium club sky box area in Bobcat Stadium, so any Alumni that would like to come please contact us.

Beginning of Spring Semester.

Winter break is over, and it is time once again for the men of Alpha Delta to complete another semester here at Montana State. We begin the new year with several of our newer brothers moving into the house.
Blake Reynolds, Ben Reed, Brad Holden, and Shad Cristando have joined us, putting the live-in total at 26. Everyone is excited to have them.
The new semester was marked by many of our brothers attending a meeting for the newly formed Collegiate Stock  growers club in the Animal Bio-Science building. They are partnered with the Montana Stock growers association, to create awareness of the Cattle industry and many issues facing Ranchers in Montana today.
There is much talk throughout the house about the upcoming AGR Sweetheart competition to be held the first week in February. Preparations are being made, and coaches for each contestant as well as the panel of judges will be selected at tonights meeting.
All of this is sure to make for another exciting semester for the men of Alpha Delta.
