The Crescent Goes Out

The last week saw things relatively quiet here at 1707 Greekway.  The major happening at the house last week was finishing, printing, and mailing out of the Chapter's semesterly crescent.  I want to give a special thank you to our Alumni brother Daniel Gaugler for all of his help in getting the crescent printed and mailed out.  If you are an alumni of the Alpha Delta Chapter you should have received a crescent Thursday or Friday of last week.  If for some reason you did not receive a crescent, please email me at alpha_d_news@hotmail.com and I will get you on our mailing list.

Other highlights from last week included a mixer with the Alpha Omicron Pi Sorority on Friday night, as well as many brothers cheering on the Bobcats to their 37-35 victory over Northern Colorado on Saturday. Last week also saw the first opportunity for our 13 brand new brothers to experience a full monday night meeting and better understand what it means to be a brother of Alpha Delta.

Moving forward with the blog in the weeks to come I hope to start having  a different officer report at least on an every other week basis so they can tell you what has been going on in their world and keep you up to date on the happenings of the house.  On a final Note I want to remind everyone of the Alpha Delta 85th anniversary celebration on November 6th at the new MSU Animal Bioscience Building.  The festivities start at 5 PM and will include a short program and a no-host social.  On Sunday morning, November 7th we are having an alumni board meeting and alumni are encouraged to attend.  If you have any questions please call the house phone 587-4251 or email me at alpha_d_news@hotmail.com.

Recent Highlights

Now that Alpha Delta has a blog it should be a lot easier to keep everyone updated on the recent happenings of the chapter.

A few recent  highlights of the chapter are:

- Alpha Delta received three campus awards at the end of last spring semester.  These awards were Montana State University Fraternity of the Year, Fraternity Philanthropy award, and an award for the most campus involvement of any fraternity.

- The house also received a green award this summer from the Alpha Gamma Rho national organization for the chapters excellence in academics, recruitment, community service, etc.

-The cumulative chapter G.P.A from last semester was a 3.13

- This Fall has also seen the Alpha Delta's annual testicle festival.  Testicle Festival this year was a great success as the chapter was able to make $10,000 in profit.  Some of this money will go back into the account to pay for Testicle Festival next year but the chapter looks to give away at least $5000 to charities this academic year.

Brothers Learning how to properly cook Rocky Mountain Oysters
The Crowd during Testicle Festival, The band is all the way in the front

-Just last week the house had 20 guys live in for live-in week and we hope to activate many of these men this semester.  It is an exciting time for our recruitment as this the is most interest the house has seen in years.

Welcome to the New Alpha Gamma Rho Alpha Delta Chapter Blog

Hello,

I have decided to create a blog to keep all alumni up to date on current happening at the house as well as to provide potential new members with some information about Alpha Gamma Rho here at Montana State University.  This blog is meant to replace the Recent News Feature on the current house website www.montana.edu/agr .  I hope to be able to put up a new post by Tuesday of every week so check back often and inform anyone you know who would be interested of the new blog.  If you have any questions or concerns feel free to leave a comment or email me at alpha_d_news@hotmail.com.
